what's a buffalo Mountain adventure?
BMA offers fully facilitated, all-inclusive, “build your own adventure” style trips, outdoor activities and retreats for small groups. We specialize in river tours such as standup paddleboarding and kayaking. Our experienced team also facilitates climbing mountain tours, scenic tours, plant walks and even overnight camping tours. Any of these tours can be combined so that you find your perfect adventure. BMA also hosts scenic tours of local attractions and educational workshops.
SUP LESSONS / RENTALS / GUIDED TRIPS
We are the first outfitter in Floyd to offer stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) tours, rentals, & lessons. We use high quality, top-of-the-line Hala inflatable boards made specifically for river trips. SUP is a fantastic way to experience the river in a new and exciting way! It may sound challenging, but our SUP lessons and trips can be adjusted to accommodate folks of all ages and skill levels. Our guides have been perfecting the art of SUP for several years and have a passion for introducing others to the sport. We promise, once you try it, you’ll be hooked!
CLIMBING tours and LESSONS
This area is rich with places for rock climbing! Another passion of ours is taking small groups for climbing trips- everything from beginner lessons to epic overnight climbing excursions.
SCENIC TOURS on foot, water or wheels
Plant walks, Mountain overlooks, Bus Tours, Hiking Trails and more... Explore new terrain in the NRV. Check out all that the area has to offer- Breweries, wineries, art studios, live music and more. Create your own itinerary with friends; or keep an eye out for our scheduled tours of the area.
WORKSHOPS/CLASSES

Gear Shop
Adventure outfitting store in Floyd, VA. We sell equipment, such as paddleboards and one wheels, in addition to provisions needed for hiking, camping, and other outdoor excursions. We also sell gently used outdoor gear and clothing on consignment. We are planning to incorporate climbing walls in the space in Winter 2022.
